How to get Thai Tourist Visa in Singapore ?
If you are researching on how to get Thai Tourist Visa in Singapore you probably want to stay in Thailand longer than 15 – 30 days. Or you want to get a new Visa from an easy to reach country close to Thailand. The Thai Tourist Visa application process is not as straightforward as one might think and Thai Consular employees are notorious for being very strict! You are in luck because we will walk you through the process step by step and make it all easy for you to obtain a Thai Tourist Visa. Either you are planning to obtain SETV (single entry tourist visa) or METV (multiple entry tourist visa) or any other kind of visa you have to follow the same steps.
Fill in the online form for Thai Tourist Visa
Since last year Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore accepts online visa applications. This process makes visa application easy, hassle free and fast. This is because visa applications in person take a way longer time. Also, in case you are asked for some additional documents, you will have to come back the next working day. Thai Embassy in Singapore strongly encourages online visa application process to be used. With the new online application feature, you can fill in everything online and wait until you are asked to come to the Royal Thai Embassy to provide the documentation and the 50 Singapore Dollar visa fee.
The online application system can be found here. Register and follow the instructions. For registration you will be required to provide the following documents:
- Passport copy/scan valid for at least 6 months
- Recent headshot picture on a white background
- Tickets in and out of Thailand, arriving in Thailand within next 3 months and leaving Thailand precisely 60 days later or before the 60-day limit.
- Proof of financial means 20,000 baht per person ($600) – online bank statement will suffice
- Proof of accommodation if you are applying for a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa)
You can apply to all kind of Thai visas via this new online platform. Be mindful, that depending on the type of visa you are intending to get, you will have to provide different/additional documentation.
Check the online form regularly for updates
Once you apply for the Thai Tourist Visa you will see a screen like this:
Once you submit the documentation your application will be at the “Submit” phase. After that, give Embassy Officials time to review your application. There are three outcomes that can follow, either your application will be rejected, reviewed requiring additional information or accepted.
Royal Thai Embassy Officials reserves the right to deny any kind of visas without any explanations, however, if your documents are alright and you have not done anything gravely wrong, this should not be the case. Your application will have the status – reviewed but requiring additional information if one of the documents you submitted was not clear or you missed something. Then the flowchart will say in bold red letters what else you need to submit. After you submit any required documents you have to wait another day until you see if your application is accepted or not. It might bet accepted right away if you provide all the documents needed, thus that is the perfect scenario.
The whole process from the day you submit documents online until the day you have to go to the Embassy to hand in your passport and the printouts is usually 4 working days. However, keep in mind that this might take longer during public holiday. We would advise starting the online application process at least 10 days before your planned arrival to Singapore, just to be safe.

Hi Linda and Kris, really appreciate your clear and concise instruction. Online application can be very intimidating because there is no human to guide you along the process. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much, Shellie! Gosh, you cannot even imagine how hard it was for us the first time around! We were so frustrated if we will get accepted or not if the paperwork is correct etc! So happy this guide helped you! Thank you so much for stopping by! :))
Hi, I’m busy completing the visa application online, and there is a requirement for a guarantor in Thailand and Singapore, which I don’t have. It is a required field. What should I do? just put in a random name of a friend in Thailand. What about the one in Singapore?
Hey there, Mel!
You should put “self” in the blank as you are the one paying for the visa, and no one is sponsoring it. You can also put the Thai address and Singapore address of your hotel or Airbnb or friends’ home in the blank spaces. 🙂 So it means you are paying yourself but you have a place to stay.
Thank will do as a local guarantor in Thailand / Singapore!!
Let us know if you have any other questions! :))
Dear Linda & Kris,
I imagine people with nationalities other than Singapore can apply for visas at the Thai embassy in Singapore.
Also, my husband and I would prefer to travel by road, not air, so would bus/train tickets count? We will both have plane tickets home from Singapore.
If you have suggestions on who to contact for more information, I will greatly appreciate it.

Hi there Milena,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Yes, people with many nationalities can get the Thai Visa in Singapore!
However, if you travel by land the maximum you can get is 15 days Visa on arrival.
Can I ask you what is your nationality? Because recently Thailand changed its Visa rules and many nationalities get 30 days free visa on arrival at the airport.
To get the 2 months Thailand visa in Singapore you will need to fly in Thailand from Singapore.
or did you mean that you will leave Thailand by road/train?
Greetings,
Linda
