 Timex Expedition Scout Chronograph

Timex watches are affordable, well-made, and lightweight. This particular timepiece has a leather strap and is available in different color variations. It has a mineral dial window and 42mm brass case. It is water resistant for up to 100 meters, thus not suitable for diving. Rather swimming and snorkeling the most. The expedition edition has been designed to survive the toughest hikes while also matching perfectly your business wardrobe.

Suunto Core All Black – Military

This is a masterpiece from Suunto! It has a storm alarm, what else can you ask for? Well, okay, it also has an altimeter, barometer, and a compass. The case is sturdy and coal black, it might survive an apocalypse. Needless to say, Suunto is our favorite form the best travel watches list! It is the ultimate outdoor watch. However, it is not really water resistant (only 30 m) so take note of that!

Seiko Beige Solar Dress Watch

This is one of the more casual watches, which is great for daily wear and might fit in an evening accessory shelf as well. It is versatile and neutral so you can easily wear it while traveling and in a more formal setting. Did we mention that it is solar-powered? No need to be frustrated when the battery dies, look for a place to change it, no need to pay anything! It will live as long as the sun shines! Note: if the watch is away from direct sunlight for a while it might take some time to charge and function again. Ah, it is super affordable as well!

Seiko Diver’s Automatic

This is one of the dive watches to own! This watch is equipped with a self-winding automatic movement. It shows the date and time and can go as deep as 200 meters. This Seiko watch features a cool rubber band which gives it a sporty feel. Even if this is not the cheapest watch on the list, it is still very well priced for the quality! And, just in case something goes wrong, you have a 2-year warranty.

Citizen Eco-Drive Navihawk

This watch is a beast! It has a Japanese quartz movement and a polyurethane band with fold-over-buckle-with-hidden-double-push-button closure (that was difficult to understand from the first time, I know). This watch is suitable for professional marine activity and water sports but, unfortunately, not scuba diving. It features a synchronized timekeeping adjustment available in 43 world cities and 1/100 second chronograph measures up to 24 hours. This might be the most advanced, tech-lovers watch in this list!

Casio Edifice

Casio! Affordable, life-long quality and a world famous brand! This is one of their marine line watches with 200m water-resistance. Battery lasts approximately 3 years and this watch is sporty and dressy at the same time. Perfect for all occasions. It keeps a remarkable time for the money!

Tissot Chronograph

A beautiful timepiece! A Swiss made watch that offers a 2 year warranty. It has a black ceramic bezel showing tachymeter markings. Water-resistance goes down to 100 meters. The strap is made of calfskin and looks very, very nice. It might be quite expensive compared to the other watches in the best travel watch list, but Tissot quality is well worth it.

Tissot Seastar

Another Tissot masterpiece! It is powered by a Swiss quartz movement and built of scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. This watch is a pure pleasure for adventures on the water and on the land.  All models in the Seastar family have their own helium valve, which allows to automatically depressurize the watch. 300 meter water resistance, YESSS! The operational excellence of this watch is outstanding and the price-quality ratio is perfect! Tissot has done it right again!

Invicta Pro Diver

This watch from the Invicta Pro Diver collection boasts beautiful style and great durability. It has an amazing black and gold color theme, which makes it look super chic. It has a protective mineral crystal dial window and unidirectional bezel. This watch is perfect for daily, active or business wear and this all-encompassing Invicta masterpiece comes at a very affordable price. Well, this watch is a pure eye-candy. However, it does not illuminate in the dark. This watch is also quite large, it might be either a good or a bad thing, depending on your preferences.

Fossil Q Nate

Fossil has made a watch which looks like a watch but acts like a smartwatch. With no charging needed. A perfect combination for an adventurous traveler. It will give you smartphone notifications, track your sleep and activities. It is not really water resistant (30 meters max.) and it is quite heavy and without a backlight. However, we believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The price is very good, taking into account the smartwatch features built in this Fossil watch.

What Should You Look for When Buying Travel Watches?

1. Water resistance is the single most important thing you have to look at. If you are a passionate traveler or preparing a gift – travel watch for a friend who is a world explorer you have to make sure the watch is water resistant. The deeper it can go the better. Most of the travel watches on the list are 100 m – 200 m water resistant which means you can go swimming, snorkeling, jet-skiing and do many other things without worrying about your watch. Some of the watches are Divers Editions, which means you can take it when you go diving as well! Tissot Seastar is the water-resistance prize winner!

2. Anti-scratch coating is another important aspect to keep in mind. While traveling you will get into situations where you might damage or scratch your watch. Make sure to ensure that the glass is scratch resistant. Seiko Diver’s Automatic is indestructible!

3. Swiss or Japanese made movement. Make sure that the movement is either Quartz Swiss or Japanese and that the watch has a warranty. If you are planning to invest a bit of money in a quality product, you have to make sure that it has a quality mechanism in it. Swiss watches are famous for their lifetime guarantee and some Swiss watches are passed to next generations. Well, that is a good investment! Citizen Eco-Drive Navihawk takes the prize for this criterion!
